The accommodation decision
For a five-day sourcing trip, the wrong base creates a repeated cross-city journey. List priority suppliers, stand locations and meeting days, then count how much time belongs at DWTC and DEC. Choose around the greater share of fixed appointments, especially early meetings. A central hotel is not automatically the best Gulfood hotel when the suppliers you need are at Expo City.

Choose the exhibition district if your sourcing list is concentrated at DWTC or your stand is there. A return to the room between meetings can be useful, but check the assigned hall and entrance. Keep DEC meetings together rather than adding a daily trip to the other venue.

DIFC makes sense when offsite business meetings and dinners support a mainly DWTC agenda. It adds a venue transfer compared with the convention district and does not shorten a DEC commute. Choose it for the business itinerary rather than for a claim of being near both sites.

Buyers should ask suppliers for their venue as well as their stand number. Exhibitors should book around the venue on their stand contract and their own build-up and breakdown instructions. Gulfood Manufacturing is a separate event with a different buying focus and schedule; this page addresses the main Gulfood food-and-beverage sourcing show.
DWTC and DEC are separate destinations along Dubai’s Red Line corridor. World Trade Centre Metro serves DWTC; Expo 2020 serves Expo City, with an onward route to the assigned DEC hall. Check train destinations and the event’s current transport instructions. No 2027 inter-venue shuttle frequency or travel time is assumed here.
If you need both venues, group supplier meetings into site-specific days where possible. Avoid back-to-back appointments across the two sites. Keep one hotel for flexibility unless your sourcing plan has two distinct blocks that justify a move; changing hotels also requires checkout, luggage transport and check-in time.
For all five public days, consider arriving on 14 March and departing on 20 March. The organiser publishes 10:00–18:00 on 15–18 March and 10:00–17:00 on 19 March. Exhibitor setup and breakdown may require other nights; use the confirmed exhibitor instructions rather than these public hours.
Before choosing an apartment or hotel, ask about luggage storage, permitted sample storage and any meeting-space needs. Do not assume a guest-room kitchen or fridge permits commercial food storage. If meetings continue after the exhibition, add the relevant room nights rather than forcing an airport departure immediately after the last supplier appointment.
