Start with the decision
Which option fits your trip?
| Option | When it makes sense | Check before booking |
|---|---|---|
| Content buyer | Protect the first and last confirmed appointments. | The exhibition dates alone do not set your personal meeting diary. |
| Producer or distributor | Compare a base that suits both the market and separately arranged discussions. | Private screening or meeting facilities must be confirmed individually. |
| Combining Dubai events | Check each event venue before choosing a shared base. | GESS is at DWTC; DICM is at Madinat Jumeirah Arena. |
01
Start with the appointment diary
The official DICM description identifies a two-day content-industry market with pre-scheduled business meetings, screenings and networking. Put the appointments you have actually confirmed at the centre of the stay. A compact event can still justify arriving beforehand when an important first meeting leaves little room for travel disruption.
That is a planning choice rather than a promised registration requirement. Check the current buyer or exhibitor arrangements that apply to you, and keep private meetings separate from the public event timetable. Neither the hotel links nor an extra room night supplies market access or entry to a particular screening.
02
Choose a coastal base without assuming resort shortcuts
Madinat Jumeirah Arena is the confirmed venue. The mapped Jumeirah Beach Hotel and Burj Al Arab records are separate coastal accommodation examples. Their location does not establish a permitted pedestrian shortcut through resort grounds, an internal event entrance or a supplied transfer. Check the actual route and access arrangements.
Compare the exact hotel experience with the needs of a working visit. If discussions continue at your accommodation, ask about the particular space and terms rather than assuming that a restaurant, suite or meeting room is available. No room rate, view, catering arrangement or commercial availability is inferred from an authorised photograph.
03
Do not combine the wrong venues
GESS Dubai also runs during this period, but at the Sheikh Saeed Halls of DWTC. Two simultaneous Dubai industry events are not a single campus. If your itinerary genuinely includes both, attach the correct venue to each appointment and consider whether different team members need different bases.
For departure after the second market day, check the last confirmed discussion, luggage arrangements and your onward travel. A two-day date range is not evidence that every buyer or exhibitor can leave at the same hour. Keep hotel checkout and event participation as separate decisions, with current terms checked before booking.
